Geneva Motorshow 2011

Its been a few week since my last posting. Here are some pictures from my recent trip to Geneva Motorshow 2011.Was very lucky to be there on the press day, less crowd, better observation, free food, and most importantly, no barricades around the car so that i could have a close look at all cars. Enjoy..!

Proton Lekiu - Concept SUV for Kuala Lumpur Motor Show '10

This was a long journey for me, developing this SUV for public viewing from 3D CAD soft ware directly to the final product, without having the chance to evaluate the car in physical 3D. But at the end, it was greatly accepted at KLIMS '10.

KLIMS 2010 - Proton Lekir

Its been over a month since the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2010 has ended. One of its world premier is the Proton Lekir. The development of this project was the most compressed lead time for a project I have ever undertaken! From sketch to show presentation in less than 4 weeks, its was extended working hours towards KLIMS. In the end, satisfaction was achieved on the 1st of December. 2 days before the press day, it was ready...! Please do enjoy!

AVA Design - Japan

Had a wonderful opportunity in March 2009, an on job training (OJT) at AVA design studio in Mikawa-Anjo, Japan. This was my very first overseas training, my curious mind was also combined with mixed emotions. My journey started solo, from KLIA, and being the first time in Japan, it had me a little bit nervous.

The Shikansen platform on a Sunday
From Kansai airport, i had to find my way to join the team in Mikawa-Anjo, via a 1.5 hour Shikansen  (bullet train) ride to the middle of Japan.

Finally reunited with the team for my first Japan meal

All and all, this trip really managed to accelerate my learning curve, it thought me how to adapt to different working style, language boundaries, food discovering, but it was really cool, really!!! An experience that i will never forget..

And of course the fooling around session in the Japan Spring  :p

It was... 2006 - Part 1 - Peugeot Excavator

This post flashback's to the year of 2006 during my study at Coventry University at the Art & Design School. The objective of the module was to capture the design language of a brand, and translating it to a product that has not been produced by that brand.

For me, I chose the Peugeot brand as my subject from the 5 choices given (Canon, Cessna, JCB, etc) and wanted to turn it into an Excavator a.k.a "Jengkaut" in Bahasa Malaysia.

Exora Prestige - It had to be prestigious

It was 2009, another product is due for launch. And when there is a new product, there will be another showcar! This time, it was an MPV, a new segment by Proton...

Final Front Sketch
The objective of the project is to bring the Exora to a more luxurious model, and to inspire potential Exora buyer who prefers vehicle customizing, a preview of what could be achieve from a stock showroom model. Leading this project was challenging project due to the amount of the change content which include customized exterior bodykit, and making a 4 seater interior (originally is 7 seater). Here are some images of the project.

Proton Saga RED Showcar

This was a project in 2008. Most weekends was dedicated to the project, late nights is a norm, just to see this lil baby roll out on time for the launch at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center. It had to be perfect, the paint was a first time for me, with 7 layers of paint, all this just for the brilliant candy effect of the final product..
18th January 2008 KL Convention Center launch

The color RED was chosen to reflect the 'SAGA' which is naturally red in color which also links back to the 1985 Proton Saga.

Alfa Giulietta - design sketches

Sexiness!
Alfa Romeo's 147 replacement

This is the New Alfa Giulietta , its the replacement for the Alfa 147, and the best part is they have a Cloverleaf version, that translates to 235bhp on tap, and a 0-100kmh time of under 7 secs. I really wish that it come to Malaysia soon, Sime Darby, please bring this baby in, with a reasonable price soon!!
